Angelo Simoes is a psychologist with a masters in Clinical and Health Psychology (University of Lisbon). Currently based in Ireland, he is completing a PhD at the Technological University Dublin (Ireland) in the area of Emotional Intelligence, developing a social and emotional learning program for teenagers. Angelo is a licensed psychologist since 2016, with experience in individual, couples and family therapy. He keeps private practice remotely with adults and couples conducting attachment-based and emotion-focused therapy.
Vebjørn Ekroll received his PhD from the University of Kiel and is a professor of psychology at the University of Bergen (Norway). His research on various topics such as color perception, motion perception and amodal completion is motivated by a general interest in the basic principles underlying perceptual processes. In recent years, he has focused on identifying hitherto unknown principles of perception and cognition by studying what magicians do and why it works. He is currently interested in how scientific insights from the study of magic can be generalized and translated into applied domains, such as education and traffic safety. Professor Richard Wiseman has been described by a Scientific American columnist as ‘…one of the most interesting and innovative experimental psychologists in the world today.’ His books have sold over 3 million copies and he regularly appears on the media. Richard also presents keynote talks to organisations across the world, including The Swiss Economic Forum, Google and Amazon. He holds Britain’s only Professorship in the Public Understanding of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire (England), and has created psychology-based YouTube videos that have attracted over 500 million views. Anthony Barnhart is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychological Science at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin (USA). He received his Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from Arizona State University, where he began his graduate career with the intention of being a language researcher. To this end, he has published research examining the processes underlying handwritten word perception, a domain that has been largely ignored by psychologists. However, Tony is also a part-time professional magician with over 30 years of performing experience. His research trajectory changed in 2010 with the publication of the book Sleights of Mind: What the Neuroscience of Magic Reveals about our Everyday Deceptions, in which he was featured as a consultant and teacher on the science of stage magic. The scientific interest that the book garnered motivated Tony to shift his focus toward the interface of science and magic. His current research on the topic explores inattentional blindness and the techniques magicians use to manipulate attentional deployment in time. He regularly teaches a college course devoted to the cognitive science of magic. Anthony S. Barnhart - Google Scholar
